Year 6 2022 - 2023
Miss Armor
Mr Billinge
Welcome to Year 6! This is a really important year for children in Primary School as it is their final year before they embark on their journey at Secondary School. This year is all about developing independent and confident learners.
What we are learning this term
In year 6 in the Spring Term we will be learning about the cause and effects of the second world war, considering whether conflict can bring positive change. We will be exploring the concepts of conflict, power and equality and discussing how these concepts relate to modern culture.
PE
This term PE is on a Monday and Thursday so please ensure children come to school wearing their PE kit on both of these days. Our school PE kit is a white polo shirt and black shorts with trainers or pumps. As the weather gets colder, the children are welcome to wear black jogging bottoms and a black jumper/their red school jumper.

Homework
Homework will be set on Friday to be completed by the following Wednesday. Ideally, we would love children to read everyday and be read to as often as possible to build up their vocabulary and understanding of texts. Spellings will be set and from time-to-time appropriate maths or further literacy set. Alongside this, we will send home a list of activities based on the project for that term where children can choose what they would like to do.
If you have any questions, then please get in touch via class dojo.
