Art

At Rossmore, children see themselves as artists knowing their strengths and overall being confident to explore and create.

This is achieved by delivering a well planned Art curriculum where children are taught progressive skills that they then practice and apply to further tasks. Skills are practiced in sketchbooks, where children feel safe to explore, make mistakes and learn new skills. Final pieces are designed, allowing children to create unique pieces of art.

Through our Art curriculum, children will have empathy and understanding of the role an artist plays across the world now and in the past. They become familiar with a diverse range of artists. Children are excited and eager to explore, discover and become lifelong artists.

Art plays a key role in our curriculum - visitors and community art projects form a fundamental part of our curriculum.
