Governor Vacancies

We currently have 2 Parent and 1 Co-opted Governor vacancies at Rossmore School. 

Our School Governing board is made up of Parent, Staff, Local Authority and Co-opted Governors. Co-opted governors include both parents and members of the community. Our Governors may come to us through a variety of routes and with a range of different backgrounds, skills and experiences, but they are all volunteers who work together for the benefit of the school and are the link between the school and the community it serves.

We are currently looking for Parent and Co-opted Governors and would be delighted to hear from anyone who has:

  • An interest in the performance of the school
  • A desire to contribute to and represent the community
  • An open and enquiring mind
  • The ability to look at issues objectively
  • The confidence to ask questions and join in debate
  • A willingness to listen and make informed judgements
  • The ability to work well with others

Site Maintenance Officer (JDQ: AA:AD 5006)

Grade 4

37 hrs per week, full year

AAAD5006

Salary range: £23,114 - £23,893 (dependent on experience)

Start date: As soon as possible

The Governors and Head Teacher of Rossmore School wish to appoint an enthusiastic, dedicated, hard-working team member to manage the site of our lovely school. The Site Maintenance Officer role is diverse, and the successful candidate will be expected to undertake a wide variety of maintenance routines roles, as well as playing a key role in the health and safety requirements of our school. The successful candidate may, on occasion, be required to drive one of our school minibuses, after having completed MIDAS training.

The successful candidate will need a positive ‘can do’ attitude and be able to demonstrate professionalism at all times. Applications from those with experience of decorating, DIY, joinery, electrical, plumbing and general cleaning skills are desirable, but not essential. The post will involve working a split shift, and an allowance is paid for this. This is a full time position (all year), with a requirement to take annual holiday entitlement during the school holidays.

Appointment is subject to the completion of pre-employment checks, which includes references, Health Assessment, Right to Work in the UK and a DBS.
