In our pre-school we set the firm foundations for children’s development following the Early Years
foundation stage statutory guidance. The children are at the centre of everything we do and we
value their individual interests.
We support our children through daily interactions to ensure they feel happy, safe and secure while
equipping them with the skills for their next stage moving into Reception.
Continuous provision is very important in pre-school to allow children to learn through play. There
are also adult directed activities to support children to learn new skills.

Autumn Term
We will be getting to know our new pre-school children this half term and settling them in. We aim
to support them with this new transition by introducing routines and modelling play and sharing
with others in our continuous provision.
Our mini topics for this half term will be;
‘All about me’
‘Harvest Festival’
‘Autumn’

Parental Involvement
We want all of our parents to feel involved in their children’s learning journey. We use an online
program called Tapestry to capture children’s learning throughout the year. Parents are able to
engage with Tapestry to make links between school and home. We have stay and play sessions
throughout the year where parents are welcome to join us.

General information
If your child is in pre-school for a full day session please provide a packed lunch
We provide a morning and afternoon snack for all children. Milk is also provided for all children in
EYFS until they turn 5 years old.
Water bottles can come to school every day. Please ensure they are labelled.
We ask children to bring wellies and a puddle suit into pre-school so they can enjoy outdoor play.
